Is Reiki Safe and Effective?

Yes, Reiki is both safe and effective. Literally millions of people have benefitted from the healing touch of Reiki. Many hospitals use Reiki as a complementary approach for the relief of pain and stress. Reiki is also used in the complementary treatment of Cancer and is used in many Hospices. There are many nurses who have trained in Reiki at many levels for the benefit of their patients.

Reiki is known as a modality that does no harm. The effects of a Reiki treatment are beneficial

Reiki has been studied over the years by many groups including the National Institutes of Health. Randomized Control Studies have been accomplished such as the medical review of Reiki I "Reiki - Review of a Biofield Therapy: History, Theory, Practice and Research" subsequently published in the peer reviewed medical journal Alternative Therapies in Health & Medicine 9, no.2 (March/April 2003): 62-72. This article provided an in depth look at research to that date.

Since that time, intense interest in the success of Reiki, a modality which uses no drugs, has no hurtful side effects, and can be used at a distance, has generated a great deal of examination especially as the costs of health care rise while many pharmaceutical solutions have proven to be little more effective than a placebo despite their costs and side effects.

No responsible Reiki Practitioner will ever suggest that any client change their medication or therapy regimens without the knowledge of their Primary Physician. Many Medical Doctors encourage the use of mind/body medicine, of which Reiki is a highly successful model, for their patients as part of their entire wellness plan.
