As with all living things and modalities, Reiki has evolved from its origins, discovered by Usui Sensei on Mount Kurama in Japan. Today, one may enjoy many flavours of Reiki energy. Traditional Reiki, as brought to the West by Mrs. Takata and anyone of her lineage is available literally everywhere. Reiki is now a well known Holistic Healing modality and has entered the mainstream of Integrative Medicine. Reiki is used in hospitals, hospices, and throughout the world. You will hardly find a Spa, Treatment Center or Community Center that does not offer Reiki classes, while colleges and even local school systems list Reiki Classes amongst their Adult Education offerings. Equally exciting is the many ways Usui/Tibetan Reiki has birthed, through the work of talented and dedicated longtime ReikiMasters, new facets of its energy. Charles Darwin wrote: "That which does not evolve, perishes." I'll be writing more about these new facets so you can discover other ways to grow and learn.

And so, Loudoun Reiki joyfully evolves, adding Karuna Reiki and Reiki Crystal Healing to both modalities for healing and classes to teach. Also new is a wonderful blend of Soul Collage and Reiki. I completed the Soul Collage Facilitator Training at a workshop led by creator Seena Frost herself. Soul Collage is the creation of small handmade collages, sized  just 5x8 inches, from myriad printed materials - seemingly at random - and then reading from the card using the prompt: "I am the one who..." The joy of creating and the introspection offered from the spontaneous reading both feeds the spirit and amazes one with its ability to pull from your soul messages that inspire, teach, soothe or heal issues long hidden within the depths of our deepest unconscious. This process illuminates, cleanses, clears, and opens new realms within our conscious and subconscious minds as we purge without trauma that which did not serve us yet remained within. One's capacity for joy, sense of freedom and richness of spirit thrive as our hands build art from the center of our True Self. 

One more exciting item is my listing on the Reiki.org website as a practitioner who has attended and completed trainings as a Reiki Master and Karuna Reiki Master led by world renowned Reiki Master Teachers Laurelle Shanti Gaia, William Rand and Michael Baird. Laurelle Gaia and Michael Baird are the owners of Infinite Light Healing Studies Center at Peace Place in Sedona, AZ. These trainings, over several years were team taught by Laurelle, Michael, and William Rand, creator of Reiki.org and all dedicated World Peace proponents.  I look forward to many more years of personally discovering Reiki, its many facets, and ways to serve the Reiki community as teacher, practitioner and student.

Loudoun Reiki is dedicated to World Peace. I do not write of the Dream of or Concept of World Peace, but of the Reality as it now exists and grows in our Real World. I can do this because it is within my power, as it is within yours and every other being's, to choose this path and walk it daily. Grand gestures by political entities of all kinds and World gatherings grow each year with World Peace as their focus. Meditation groups focusing on World Peace on a regular basis are easy to find and join offering anyone the opportunity to increase the frequency of the Peace vibration on our planet. They are worth the time, the small effort and with the use of the appropriate Reiki symbols can be accessed and enhanced at any time, anywhere. Loudoun Reiki is dedicated to World Peace though thousands of small, tiny measures and steps over all time that accumulate and grow bringing about a change of mind and heart that heals one so deeply your sense of self cannot allow you to participate in anything less than Peace. This can began by refusing to participate in any word or deed that is less than kind, a simple thing really. Next, engaging in random acts of kindness, especially those that are completely anonymous - no matter how small - delights our soul. When one engages in spreading smiles and happiness it soon becomes a habit - and before you realize, you always choose to make others feel better and never choose to jump on a bandwagon to fit in where even the most seemingly innocent "joke" could cause a moment's discomfort to anyone. This is a road to Peace too. Mother Teresa said "we cannot do great things, we can only do small things with great love." So let us all do small things each day and participate in greater things as we can. I believe that we will see an unbelievable, unforeseeable (for some) event befall us all in 2012 - it will be a World at Peace. While many speculate and study the stars or other omens, I search with my heart and mind deeply - and all I see is the reality of World Peace.
